High School P.E. Teachers: Motivate, Educate, Activate Your Grades 10-12 Students

Looking for up-to-date programs that will interest your Grade 10 to 12 students? CFES fitness leadership courses and resources are for you and your students!

CFES Fitness Leadership Program modules are designed to take students through the steps and standards for fitness instructor and personal trainer certification. The course modules also work great in high schools for students who are looking for practical life-skills and leadership training, credits towards graduation and, for some, as a work bridge into the fitness industry.

Courses are easy to set up and very popular with teens today and are ideal for students who are looking for: practical living skill knowledge and leadership training; credits towards graduation; a bridge of learning before entering (related) advanced education (e.g. Kinesiology, P.E. diploma or degree); part time employment in the health/fitness/recreation/coaching fields; or as the first step towards a full time career (e.g. personal training) in the fitness industry.

All course modules -- Fitness Knowledge, Group Exercise Instructor Course, Weight Training Instructor Course and Personal Trainer Course -- have student manuals that are learner-friendly and filled with detailed, practical knowledge that will motivate, educate and activate your students for a lifetime. Each of the courses has a corresponding student program work booklet with quizzes, assignments, learning activities, labs and end of course exams.  To see some sample pages from our manuals click on any of the Downloads in the right hand side bar

Student manuals can be ordered with optional program booklets which are filled with all the student assignments and forms. These booklets can save you copying time and money.

Course conductor (teacher) Educator Kits make setting up courses easy, with simple-to-use guidelines and materials and include: detailed course agenda and chapter learning objectives, teaching tools and labs; resources to color in and laminate, assignments, quizzes and end-of-course exams with master answer keys and course completion forms.  The Fitness Knowledge Course, Weight Training and Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer Courses also have supplemental EdKit PowerPoints for the course conductor to use in the classroom.

High school teachers with PE/Kinesiology experience can offer the complete certification modular package over a minimum of 100+ hours for the basic instructor certification. There are also practicum and case study hours your students would do during the courses.

Visit the CFES National Fitness Leadership Certification web page for more information.
